William Michael Peck, Sr., 80, of Spotswood, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Friday, May 3, 2024 at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bill was born in New Brunswick to Irma and John Peck and raised in Edison. Bill’s passions included spending quality time with his family, embarking on trips, enjoying country rides, attending old car shows, engaging in woodworking projects in the garage, listening to country music, tending in his garden, hunting, and fishing. He also found pleasure in playing the lottery and betting on the horses at the racetrack. Bill’s garage was a hub of creativity where he entertained his grandchildren with various projects. After more than 30 years in the manufacturing industry Bill retired in his fifties to focus on his family and hobbies. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandpups, Chloe, Legacy and Lobo. Above all else, he cherished time spent with his wife and family. He often told his wife, Barbara, that she was the best thing to happen to him and that he wanted more time with her.
Although Bill may have left the physical world, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was a very giving and kind man who would give you the shirt off his back. May he rest in peace.
He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, John and Robert Peck. Bill passed away on the fifty-fifth wedding anniversary to his devoted wife, Barbara Peck, who survives him; he is also survived by his son, William M. Peck, Jr. and his wife, Maria and, his daughter, Kathleen Barasch and her husband, Mark, who have always been a source of great joy in his life; his sister, Margaret Nemeth and her husband, Russ; his brother, Alan Peck, Sr.; his aunt, Annie Tomori; his grandchildren, who brought him immense happiness, Rebecca, Nathaniel, Gabriella, Kevin and Olivia, and; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin at 9:30 AM, Thursday, May 9th, from Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood, followed by a 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial from Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood.
